The Interior Department vows that authorities will make sure leftist groups or those belonging to communist rebels will not disrupt the inauguration of President-elect Bongbong Marcos on June 30.
“We are taking these intelligence reports seriously and we will do what is necessary to thwart any attempt to embarrass or discredit the forthcoming inauguration,” Interior Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya said in a statement.

The NTF-ELCAC claimed that the left has started organizing farmers group to protest against Marcos.
“They definitely do not want Marcos to sit as the president. They will do anything before he takes his oath on June 30,” Orlando Baluyot, a former rebel said during the NTF-Elcac briefing.
“That’s part of their playbook. Whoever sits in Malacañang is their enemy because ultimately, all they want is to overthrow the government through violent means to be followed by a socialist revolution,” Malaya added.
The Communist Party of the Philippines denied the claims made by the DILG and Senator Juan Ponce Enrile.
“Such an objective, in fact, is futile because Marcos Jr. and the entire Marcos family are beyond embarrassment and shame,” the CPP said.
