Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV said that Vice President Leni Robredo is still the best shot of the opposition for the 2022 presidential polls.
Trillanes however said that Robredo should make her decision sooner rather than later.
“Definitely, we still maintain that Vice President Leni Robredo is the best candidate for the opposition,” Trillanes said in an interview on ABS-CBN News.

The Liberal Party and the 1Sambayan both expressed their desire to field Robredo but she has yet to announce her decision yet.
Robredo is deciding whether to run for president or gun for a local post as governor in Camarines Sur.
Earlier, Trillanes and former Congressman Rolando Andaya said that Robredo had supposedly decided to run for the local post.

“Let me make that distinction about decision and declaration. The decision can be made quietly, privately, so that you can make the necessary preparations and you can make the declaration later, a few days before the October filing,” Trillanes said.
Trillanes said that Robredo should look at the strategy of administration bets.
“Most of them have decided and yet none of them have officially declared. But the preparations are going on. They are going to win not only public support, but also local support as what they have been doing. That’s the edge that we are losing,” he said. (TDT)
