Sharjah Police arrest man for stealing abandoned vehicles

Sharjah Police managed to arrest an Arab man for stealing abandoned vehicles dumped by their owners in sandy areas and roads in residential buildings.

The accused was arrested within a short time after receiving a theft report by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Sharjah Police.

In a report on Gulf Today, Colonel Hamad Abdullah Al Riyami, Acting Director of the Central Region Police, shared that a report from an anonymous person revealed that an Arab man stole a vehicle with its plates from the back of his building.

The source admitted neglecting his vehicle with its key inside, Al Riyami added.

The stolen vehicle was discovered and tracked down by authorities. They were also able to identify the Arab suspect.

He reportedly sold the reported vehicle to another person after he had stolen it.

The man admitted to his crime including stealing other vehicles abandoned by owners for long periods in sandy areas.

He is currently detained at the Sharjah Public Prosecution after he confessed to stealing a number of abandoned vehicles.

Sharjah Police call on owners of vehicles to park their vehicles in safe places. They also urge the public not to leave their cars in sandy areas and roads. (TDT)
