Three men belonging to an African gang were arrested and charged in criminal court for forging $25 million and attempting to sell it for $5,000 in Dubai.
A report by Gulf Today said that the arrest happened last August after the mosque’s Imam sought help from the police.
The Imam told the police that three men had asked his help in promoting a huge amount of US dollars in return for a cut of the profit.

It was believed that the suspects asked the Imam’s help as he was familiar with their mother language, French.
The suspects also thought that the Imam wouldn’t report the incident to the police.
After receiving the report, the police planned a buy-bust operation in the hopes of catching the suspects.
The police went on to corner the suspects trying to sell the amount for $5,000.
In another incident in Dubai, a 43-year-old African man was arrested after he attempted to sell fake bills amounting $12,000.

Charges have been filed in court against the suspect.
It was last November when police were tipped off that the defendant was keeping counterfeit money and was planning to sell it.
An undercover policeman then contacted the defendant and made it appear that he was interested to buy the counterfeit currency for Dhs15,000.
The defendant agreed to meet the poseur-buyer and was arrested while delivering the $12,000.
The defendant claimed he got the counterfeit money from a compatriot and convinced him to look for a buyer. (CC)
