Talent manager and entertainment columnist Manay Lolit Solis has taken a swipe at BB Gandanghari about her recent revelation that her former self, Rostum Padilla, had a “romantic affair” with a famous actor he named “Jonathan”.
To recall, BB Gandanghari, who is now based in the US, claimed in one of her recent vlogs that Rostum and Jonathan’s affair began in San Francisco for their stage play titled “Kristo” in 2001 with Piolo Pascual, Judy Ann Santos, Mat Ranillo III, Alice Dixson and Rossana Roces.
BB Gandanghari however interchanged the use of the pseudonym “Jonathan” and Piolo. It was not clear if she was referring to actor Piolo Pascual.
She claimed that Rostum and Jonathan kissed. “It was probably the most felt kiss. It was deep, it was passionate, but it was also more than that. May feeling, eh. But, it ended there when they realized may mga tao sa baba. They stopped, and then bumaba na si Rostum,” BB said.
Then he made mentions of Piolo’s name quite a few times: “Nag-umpisa bilang buddies, enjoying each other’s company. They just danced the whole night. It was a night to remember Rostum, after a long time, genuinely felt cared for, hindi lang dahil kay Piolo, pero lahat ng kasama niya at that time.”
“Eto na ‘yung manager. Sabi sa kanya, ‘Saan ka nagpunta?’ Sabi ko, ‘Ha, dun nga sa amusement park nga.’ Sabi niya, ‘Kasama mo si Piolo?’ Sabi ko, ‘Hindi, nagkita lang kami sa baba, pero hindi siya sumama.’ All of a sudden, Rostum now is automatic, parang living a lie. Automatic,” BB added.
BB Gandanghari went on saying that after that incident in the park, Rostum and Jonathan had a private moment in his hotel suite when the latter gave Rostum a call and asked if he could go to his room. He said Jonathan brought him wine and bananas.
This revelation, however, did not sit well with several columnists including Solis.
In an Instagram post, Solis said in parts: “Parang hindi naman maganda timing ng mga reveal niya at parang bitter lang siya sa buhay kaya panay ang mga pasabog niya.
“Wala ng relevance ang mga sinasabi niyang throwback story sa buhay ni Rostum Padilla na para bang napakatagal ng panahon naganap kaya hindi na gaanong pansin pa ng mga tao sa ngayon.
“Ang nakakainis nga marami pa ang nadadamay na pangalan dahil blind item nga ang style ng kanyang pagbu bulgar.
“Mas mabuti pa nga na tumahimik na lang si BB Gandanghari dahil ang layo na niya sa Pilipinas, nasa USA na siya, dapat masaya na siya sa buhay na pinili niya at huwag ng manggulo pa.
“Mas mabuti na ang tahimik siya dahil kahit paano pag gusto niya bumalik baka puwede pa. Now kung mag iintriga siya, baka wala na siyang mabalikan pa. Sayang,” her post reads.
Meanwhile, columnist Noel Ferrer in his recent column published on Pep.ph website said: “Dala na rin siguro ng pandemic itong mga pilit na inuungkat ang matagal nang patay na isyu.”
He added: “Susmaryosep! Labinsiyam (19) na taon na ang lumipas! Noon ay 34-anyos pa lang si Rostum at si Piolo ay 24. Nananalig ba si BB Gandanghari na ang katotohanan ay magpapalaya sa kanya? Na walang lihim na hindi mabubunyag? O nakikisakay si BB sa nauusong BL (Boys’ Love) kaya dinalirot niya ang pinagsaluhan nina “David” at “Jonathan”?”
The camp of Piolo Pascual is still mum about BB Gandanghari’s claim.
