UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on his Twitter account that he has tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In a video of him on his latest Twitter post, Johnson said he developed mild symptoms including high temperature and a persistent cough over the past 24 hours.
“I am working from home, I am self-isolating and that is entirely the right thing to do,” Johnson said in the video.
Johnson is among several high-profile politicians and public figures who have tested positive for COVID-19.
To recall, Prince Charles of Great Britain also tested on Monday and found to have coronavirus.
The UK Prime Minister was said to have interacted with Nadine Dorries, a U.K. health minister, who tested positive for the virus on March 10.

Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus.
I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus.
Together we will beat this. #StayHomeSaveLives pic.twitter.com/9Te6aFP0Ri
