Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has ended her self-quarantine after she was cleared by the city’s health officer.
Duterte was placed into her voluntary isolation on Thursday after she attended the hearing at the Senate where a resource person tested positive for COVID-19.
The Davao City mayor said that she did not have direct contact with the patient but had a lunch meeting with Senator Win Gatchalian.
“Mayor Inday Sara Duterte has been given clearance by the Davao City Health Officer, Dr. Josephine Villafuerte, to discontinue her voluntary isolation,” the Davao City Mayor’s Office said in a statement.
Gatchalian also revealed that CCTV footage showed that he did not interact with the COVID-19 patient.
The mayor’s household employee who showed symptoms of the virus was diagnosed to have tonsilitis instead.
“She is now taking antibiotics and recovering well,” it said.
