The General Command of Sharjah Police has launched a new security awareness campaign aimed at reducing home burglaries and vehicle theft across the emirate.
The initiative, titled “Your Belongings Are Your Responsibility,” was rolled out in partnership with the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority.
Authorities said the campaign is designed to strengthen community vigilance and encourage residents to adopt preventive measures to protect their property.
As part of the program, awareness messages will be distributed through multiple communication channels to ensure wider public reach and engagement. The campaign will also include multilingual brochures targeting workers’ residential accommodations, providing practical safety tips to help prevent theft.
Digital awareness materials will likewise be disseminated across various social media platforms.
Sharjah Police emphasized simple preventive steps such as properly securing homes, locking vehicles, and avoiding leaving valuables in visible areas, noting that such measures significantly reduce theft risks.
Authorities also urged residents to stay vigilant, cooperate with law enforcement, and report suspicious activities, stressing that public safety is a shared responsibility between the community and security agencies.
