Solicitor General Jose Calida acted on his own when he filed the quo warranto petition questioning the validity of the franchise of ABS-CBN, according to Senator Bong Go.
“Si Calida, may sariling pag-iisip ‘yan (Calida has his own mind) and the President has nothing to do with the quo warranto,” said Go, the former personal aide of President Rodrigo Duterte.
The President, the senator said, had nothing to do with the action of Calida.
In the past, Duterte has criticized the network. He threatened that he would have the company shut down for allegedly refusing to air his campaign advertisements in 2016 and had tax deficiencies.
