Philippines all set for Expo 2020 Dubai, Pavilion construction to commence this year

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Philippines Organizing Committee (POC) for Expo 2020 Dubai led by Secretary and Commissioner-General Ramon Lopez (3rd from R) have signed on October 28, 2019 an agreement with Dubai-based RAQ Contracting Company LLC represented by its Chief Executive Officer Rami Al Qaisi (2nd from R) for the construction of the country’s pavilion, Bangkóta.

The Bangkóta Philippines Pavilion will be a 1,300 square-meter enclosed area on a 3,163.25 square-meters of land, designed by Arch. Royal Pineda of Budji+Royal Architecture+Design as Overall Theme Director and Principal Architect and Ms. Marian Pastor-Roces, as the Overall Content Curator.

It will feature six (6) exhibit areas, an artisanal café, a Go Lokal! store and a Marahuyo Boutique. The Pavilion’s groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 12 December 2019.

Expo 2020 Dubai will run from October 2020 to April 2021. It will feature 190 country pavilions and expected to have 25 million visitors.
