‘Kita Kita’ gets Indonesian remake

Alessandra De Rossi and Empoy Marquez’s hit movie, “Kita Kita,” is poised to get a new flavor and remake in Indonesia.

The Indonesian adaptation of the Alempoy movie is titled “Cinta Itu Buta,” or “Love is Blind.”

The trailer showed that it is similar to blockbuster indie film except that the location was not taken in Japan but in Busan, South Korea.

“Kita Kita” follows the story of a blind woman and her neighbor who continuously followed her until they fell in love.

Sigrid Andrea Bernardo, the film’s director, said she got teary-eyed watching the trailer of the Indonesian adaptation.

“Cinta Itu Buta” will premiere in Indonesian cinemas on October 10.

“Kita Kita” earned Php320 million, making it the highest grossing indie film of all time.
