Mister Inasal: Al Khail Gate’s Pinoy cuisine central

Years back, an enterprising food lover saw a gaping hole at Al Khail Gate’s growing community of mostly Filipino expats and he quickly filled it up.

Today, that hole is the most popular place to go for Pinoys hungry from work or just simply craving homegrown comfort foods for the weekend.

Indeed, such is the popularity of Mister Inasal that it receives over 200 orders a day, said Kapampangan Chef Nol Mercado.

Recently big brand name restaurants have opened in the vicinity but the top management of Mister Inasal,Tolaram Vatnani was unperturbed and said “We believe in competition, “If we have competition, we have to make our offer good. We have regular customers from the community. We have to keep offering good food so that they will come back and we are not worried because we know our customers won’t go away,” he added.

And it is not just in the food. Chef Nol said the restaurant does bespoke preparations for customers wanting a bit of variation to what they are having for dinner. “Kapag gusto ng customer magpaluto, kahit wala sa menu linuluto namin,” Chef Nol said, citing for instance Binagoongang Manok and Beef Bicol Express.

Best sellers are the Mister Inasal grilled chicken “na ang recipe ay galing pa sa lolo ko,” said Chef Nol; kare-kare, bulalo, and sizzling chicken sisig, among others.

“Kaya nga napaka-suwerte ng mga Pilipino dito sa Al Khail,” said the chef.

Mister Inasal accepts order for delivery and its open by 9am till midnight. Prices start at Dh12.
