Singer-comedienne K Brosas took to Instagram to call out a herbal tea brand called “Vegiemax” after they used an unauthorized photo of Chokoleit for their promotional ad.
It can be recalled that Chokoleit passed away on March 10 after performing in Abra due to heart attack and pulmonary edema.
Brosas said in her Instagram post that it was disrespectful for Vegiemax to use her late friend to promote their product.
As seen in the said Vegiemax ad, drinking the said tea can help reduce the risk of a number of diseases, including heart problems.
The administrator of the Facebook page of Vegiemax also said that Chokoleit would still be alive today if he drank the said herbal tea.
Brosas cried foul over the said ad saying that it was inappropriate for them to use the photo of a dead person.
“Bawal po ‘yan for your information, ang paggamit ng picture ng sino mang artista na ‘di niyo endorser o walang permiso. Ano pa kaya kung patay na? Pwede kayong idemanda, mga demonyo kayo,” Brosas said.
“Pwede tayo mag negosyo at magtrabaho nang tamang paraan. ‘Wag manggamit ng ibang tao at respeto lang naman,” she added.
In the comments section of Brosas’ post, her fellow comedians Pokwang and Kakai Bautista shared the same sentiments.
“SOBRANG KAPAL NG MUKHA. MGA UNGAS!” Bautista wrote.
For her part, Pokwang said, “Ayaw mag hanapbuhay nang patas. Palaklak ko kaya sa kanya lahat ‘yan nang isang inuman lang?”
Brosas also said that she tried reaching out to the administrator of the page asking him to take down the post.
“Nag-direct message pa ko sa kanila para mabura na dapat kanina pa. Ang sagot ay, ‘Di po gumagana delete button eh,'” she said.
Brosas, however, added that the Facebook page of Vegiemax has already taken down the post after she posted the screenshots on Instagram.
