A 14-wheeler truck carrying 16 tons of sand fell into a hole in Roxas Boulevard in Manila at dawn on Sunday.
Local media reported that the incident took place at around 2am. The truck driver said they were supposed to deliver sand from Pampanga to a Manila Bay rehabilitation project.
The driver added that traffic enforcers rerouted them to another road to give way to a Manila marathon event but a cover of a huge canal collapsed.
As of press time, the truck was still buried in the hole. The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is still finding ways to remove it from there.
