UAE fires back at Iran: ‘Threats are unacceptable’

The United Arab Emirates strongly condemned recent statements issued by Iran’s Foreign Ministry, rejecting what it described as threats and allegations targeting the country’s sovereignty and national security.

In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Abu Dhabi completely rejects any claims or actions that could undermine its sovereign decision-making.

The ministry stressed that the UAE’s international partnerships and defense relations are purely sovereign matters and should not be used as justification for threats or interference.

“The UAE firmly opposes any allegations or threats that undermine its sovereignty and national security,” the ministry said.

Officials also warned against rhetoric that could threaten the country’s civilian and vital infrastructure, as well as the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors.

The UAE said such statements contradict international law, the principles of good neighborliness, and the United Nations Charter.

The ministry added that the UAE retains the full right to respond to any hostile acts or threats using legal, diplomatic, and military measures if necessary.

The statement comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East linked to the ongoing regional conflict and growing security concerns surrounding the Strait of Hormuz and Gulf stability.
