WATCH: President Duterte receives mixed reactions after kissing OFW on stage

President Rodrigo Duterte has been the subject of yet another controversy after he kissed a Filipino woman during his official visit in Seoul, South Korea on Sunday, June 3.

The President met members of the Filipino community in the East Asian country and gave a 2-hour speech.

At the end of his speech, Duterte called an unidentified woman to join him onstage and receive a copy of a book titled “Altar of Secrets,” which talks about the alleged corruption in the Catholic Church, reported ABS-CBN.

Duterte said in front of a live audience that the book does not come for free and that the woman must pay for it with a kiss.

“Handa ka naman makipaghalikan, halika!” Duterte told the woman.

The woman then went onstage with another Filipina to receive the said book.

“Huwag kang mag-amen-amen dyan. Halika dito! Ang beso-beso?” Duterte said.

When the woman was about to go down the stage, Duterte asked her if she is single, to which the woman replied, “Hindi. Married po.”

The President then asked if her husband was in the audience and the Filipina said no.

Duterte gestured for the woman to kiss him on the lips and asked if she can tell her husband that what they were about to do was only a ‘joke’.

The crowd then roared with cheers as the President locked lips with the Filipina.

“Huwag ninyong dibdibin ‘yun. Ano lang ‘yun… pampasaya ng mga tao. Gimmick,” Duterte said.

Duterte’s actions have gained a mixed bag of reactions from netizens, with most of them saying that what he did was inappropriate for someone in his position.
