Dubai Police have warned residents against fake travel and tourism offers circulating online, particularly during the holiday and summer vacation season when fraud cases tend to increase.
The warning was issued under the ongoing “Be Aware of Fraud” campaign led by the Anti-Fraud Centre of the General Department of Criminal Investigation.
Authorities said fraudsters are taking advantage of the growing demand for discounted travel packages, hotel bookings, and international flights by advertising offers at prices far below market rates.
Dubai Police said scammers create fake websites and fraudulent social media accounts promoting holiday deals to trick victims into making payments before realizing they were deceived.
According to authorities, some fake entities use professionally designed logos, branding, and promotional materials that closely imitate legitimate tourism companies and licensed travel agencies.
Police added that scammers also contact victims through phone calls and messaging applications, pressuring them to make immediate payments by claiming that seats are limited or promotions are about to expire.
Authorities said many victims only discover the fraud after transferring money to personal bank accounts or suspicious payment links, only to later find out that hotel bookings and airline tickets were fake or unconfirmed.
Dubai Police urged residents not to trust unrealistic offers or heavily discounted packages that do not match prevailing market prices.
The public was advised to transact only with accredited and licensed travel agencies and to verify websites carefully before entering personal or banking information.
Authorities also warned against sharing bank card details, passwords, or security codes with unverified parties and reminded residents not to transfer money to unknown personal accounts.
Dubai Police encouraged the public to report suspicious websites and online fraud incidents through the official e-Crime platform or by calling 901 for non-emergency cases.
