Morente said on Thursday the shake-up at the NAIA terminals 1, 2, and 3 covers all immigration employees. This will cover from the deputy port operations division chief all the way to the counter personnel.
Nearly 800 personnel were reassigned in different terminals and work shifts.
“Total revamp, pinagpapalitan natin lahat even ang mga counter personnel. We shook up the system. Para mabasag po kung mayroon mang collusion of any employees sa ating airports,” Sandoval told CNN Philippines.
Early this month, an immigration officer exposed the alleged scheme of BI officials asking money from Chinese tourists in exchange of VIP treatments.
Sandoval said that 19 officers have been relieved from their posts and are now facing administrative charges.
