DOH: 487 patients under observation as suspected COVID-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) said that they are now monitoring 487 persons under investigations (PUIs) for the new coronavirus disease or COVID-19.
DOH said that 330 of the PUIs have been discharged from various health facilities.

There are now 154 people who are still being closely monitored by the DOH.
The DOH added that they were able to finish 61% of the contact tracing on the individuals who came in contact with the first two novel coronavirus cases in the country.
“For our third case…67% out of the total na na-contact trace na. Medyo nagkaroon po tayo ng konting issues ngayon because we’re still trying to verify the details,” DOH Assistant Secretary Rosette Vergeire told GMA News.

She added that no local transmission of the COVID-19 has been recorded so far.
They are now working to add more health facilities to admit more patients under observation. The DOH is also looking into setting sub-laboratories for testing suspected COVID-19 patients.
