A mother who tested positive for the novel coronavirus in China has given birth to a healthy baby girl, state news agency Xinhua reported.
Xinhua shared the photo of the baby being carried by one of the doctors in Heilongjiang province.
A Caesarean section was performed on the woman who was 38 weeks pregnant when brought to the hospital.
The newborn weighs about 3 kilograms and fortunately tested negative for the novel coronavirus.
The hospital in Harbin City said on Thursday that the woman had a mild fever and tested positive for coronavirus.
Both of them were quarantined with two special medical teams designated for their observation and treatment.
