The 62nd Grammy Awards on Monday paid tribute to the basketball legend Kobe Bryant who died along with his daughter and 7 others in a chopper crash.
The annual music event turned into a memorial for the Black Mamba.
Alicia Keys, who hosted the Grammys, made a heartfelt speech during the opening of the show, “Earlier today, Los Angeles, America and the whole wide world lost a hero,” she said.

“And we’re literally standing here heartbroken in the house that Kobe Bryant built,” the singer referred to the basketball career of the former Laker superstar which spanned 2 decades.

Keys also honored other victims of the fatal crash which includes Kobe’s 13-year-old daughter Gianna.
The singer performed the song “It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye” together with Boyz II Men.
