The expected downpour on Monday, January 13 in the provinces of Batangas, Cavite and Laguna might complicate the ashfall caused by Taal’s volcanic activity.
There is a chance of mudflow if heavy rainfall will continue, according to disaster and risk management, and local authorities.
Unlike the wind direction that blew in the northern area in which ashfall reached the areas of Central and Northern Luzon on Sunday, the particles of ashfall will be swept towards the Quezon province.
According to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), fair weather in Metro Manila can be experienced today.
However, thunderstorms and scattered rains in the Eastern Visayas and CARAGA Region are expected.
PAGASA specialist Aldczar Aurelio said the thunder which formed during the Taal Volcano eruption was due to the positive and negative polarity caused by warm air or vapor and the volcanic smoke.
The weather bureau has advised both residents and motorists to wear protective clothing and to drive safely when rain with ashfall continue as it may pose a threat to one’s safety.
