Ryan Casidsid and fiance Richielyn Jimenez were set to tie the knot this coming Dec. 21.
However, days before their wedding the bride bid goodbye to his groom.
Ryan lost Richielyn to TB meningitis or Tuberculous meningitis, an infection of the tissues covering the brain and spinal cord (meninges) as described by Medline Plus.
But her death did not stop Ryan from fulfilling the plans they have made together – to get married.
Clad in a red maroon suit, Ryan waited for his bride at the altar.
Inside the white coffin, there laid his beautiful bride in her white gown peacefully sleeping after months of battling her illness.
It was just January this year when Ryan popped the question to Richielyn.
In his post on his Facebook account, he could still vividly recall the proposal he made to her.
“Until dumating yung time na lumabas kana sa office, naglakad ka papunta sa center ng centris walk, umiiyak habang pinapatugtog yung theme song natin na I Swear,” he wrote.
“Dami na umiiyak that time pati ako , nakita din kita umiiyak, hanggang binigay mo yung matamis na “yes” sa tanong ko na Will you marry me. That day I was the happiest man on Earth,” he added.
Two weeks later, they were both blessed with the good news that Richielyn was pregnant.
He also remembered how moody Richielyn was back then but Ryan made sure they were both okay.
However, they were met with the bad news on March 28 that they’ve lost their baby named Tony.
Instead of dwelling on what they have lost, they both carried on and focused on their wedding plans.
Ryan thought it was already a happy ending for them until Richielyn was diagnosed with TB meningitis last November.
Ryan worked at night and cared for Richielyn during the daytime.
He doesn’t want to show her that he’s tired because he wants her to never get tired of fighting for her life.
However, Richielyn succumbed to her illness last Dec. 2. “Sino nga ba mag-aakala na ang gown na aming pinagawa, ay sa ganitong sitwasyon na niya isusuot… Mahal bye for now, mananatili ka sa puso at aking isipan. I will always love you,” Ryan wrote as he closes this chapter of his love life. Richielyn was finally laid to rest last week.
Video of the entourage was shared by Kelvin Casidsid Semilla with Ryan waiting at the altar while wiping his tears. He handed over the bouquet of flowers to his bride and kissed her as the coffin opened.
For the last time, during the funeral, he kissed his beautiful bride who is now with their son in the afterlife.
