A light aircraft crashed in a wooden area in Lake Ontarion in Canada killing five Americans and two Canadians on board.
The aircraft was a US-registered single-engine Piper PA-32 which departed Toronto’s Buttonville Airport and was apparently headed to Quebec City when it crashed.
Emergency services, rescue helicopter and military personnel were deployed on the crash site.
“Five Americans and two Canadians were aboard,” Transportatiin Safety Board spokeswoman Nora Vallee told reporters.
Canadian media said the pilot came from Texas and with him was his wife and three children including two Canadians.
The pilot was identified as Otabek Oblokulov and wide Bobomurod Nabiev, both Uzbekiztan citizens.
Authorities are now retrieving the flight recorder to determine the cause of the crash.
