The signing of the labor agreement will be done when President Duterte makes his official visit to Russia in the first week of October, said Bello, who will join the President in the trip.
Bello added that a team of labor officials will be flying to Russia ahead of the President to finalize the signing of the agreement.
The number of Filipino household service workers and skilled employees to be deployed to Russia will not be limited, Bello said. “It depends on the number of job applicants,” Bello was quoted in the report.
Once the agreement is finalized, the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) will issue the implementing regulations. According to Bello, Russia is pushing for a government-to-government deployment, but the POEA wants the participation of private recruitment agencies.
