Presidential Spokesperson Sal Panelo said that it is ‘status quo’ for now on Bureau of Corrections Chief Nicanor Faeldon and other officials amid the controversy hounding the Good Conduct Time Allowance Law.
“As regards the officials in the Bureau of Corrections, the President will maintain the status quo until the congressional hearings are concluded,” Panelo said in a statement.
Malacañang added that President Rodrigo Duterte is closely monitoring the turn out of Congressional hearings.
“The President will be monitoring the conduct of the legislative investigation and give appropriate consideration to the findings of Congress,” Panelo added.
Lawmakers called for the ouster or resignation of Faeldon amid the BuCor mess.
Senator and former Presidential aide Bong Go said that he would recommend the firing of Faeldon from his post.
