Sep. 02, 19 | 5:48 pm

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) has launched a new online portal where Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) can check their eligibility on the department’s rebates program.

The OWWA Rebate Portal also allows OFWs to set an appointment to the nearest OWWA office to process their benefits.

Qualified members are those who are at least with OWWA for ten years with five or more contributions until December 2017 and those who have not availed of any program or benefit from OWWA.

A code will sent through SMS if an appointment has been made.

Rebates can range from P941.25 to P13,177.50, depending on the number of their contributions.

“The amount of the rebate can also be used as payment for the renewal of OWWA membership for OFWs who still have active employment contract abroad,” the OWWA said in a statement.

UPDATE: The newly launched OWWA Rebate Portal is experiencing some downtime. Below is an actual screenshot of the website.
