The Labor Department has announced that it is set to sign a deal with Canada for Filipino skilled workers.
Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello is now in Canada to prepare the labor deal.
The bilateral labor agreement includes sending 2,000 Filipino skilled workers to Canada every year.
Skilled workers need in Canada included caregivers, hotel workers and other skilled jobs.
Bello added that apart from Canada, Japan is also opening its workforce to Filipinos.
There are more than 900 thousand Filipinos working and living in Canada.
