The Labor Department has announced that Japan is offering 300,000 jobs to Filipinos.
Job vacancies include care workers, food service industry, construction, agriculture, food and beverage manufacturing, machine parts and tooling, electrical and electrics information.
There will also be job opportunities for building cleaning management, industrial machinery, accommodation industry, fishery and aquaculture, aviation industry, automobile repair and shipbuilding.
The program is under their residence status specified skilled workers act.
Those who will be hired will get the opportunity to bring their families to Japan and can be granted an immigrant status.
“Everything is on process, they can start recruiting and deploying,” Labor Chief Silvestre Bello told ABS-CBN News.
Under the signed agreement, Filipino workers should get the same compensation like their Japanese counterparts.
“Example sa caregiver ang sweldo nag average sa Php77,000, under the contract it could be around that figure or much better,” POEA Administrator Bernard Olalia said.
Filipino workers should be given a day off and overtime pays. Their employers should shoulder the workers’ accommodation and transportation as well.
Filipinos should pass the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) before deployment.
The POEA reminds Filipino applicants to work only with accredited job orders.
