Palace expresses rage over rape of OFW in Kuwait

Malacanang officials said they are outraged by the reported abduction and rape of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) by an airport official in Kuwait.

“We are certainly outraged by that,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in a press briefing on Thursday.

Panelo added that Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III is already “responding to the incident”. He also assured that the government will provide necessary assistance to the family of the victim.

According to earlier reports, a warrant of arrest has already been issued against the suspect who was identified as Fayed Naser Hamad Alajmy, a 22-year-old Kuwaiti Police Officer.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) vowed that justice will be served for the Filipina victim.

The DFA adds that the employers of the OFW has been very cooperative to local authorities to solve the case.
