As the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia celebrates its 88th National Day, a woman made history by being the first female news anchor on the nightly newscast television.
Weam Al Dakheel went live on Thursday night, September 20, on Al Saudiya with her co-anchor Omar Al Nashwan.
Al Dakheel previously worked for CNBC Arabia and the Bahrain-based Al-Arab News, reported Fox News.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian nationals are rejoicing the milestone because previous female journalists such as Jumanah Al Shami only reported features or morning news.
