Tourist arrivals from Korea are the highest among other countries visiting the Philippines from January to August.
This is according to the Bureau of Immigration that recorded a total of 4,352,929 foreign arrivals in the country.
However, the record slid more than one percent lower than the same period from last year’s record of 5,831,996.
At least 1,214,463 Koreans visited the Philippines in 2018, reported the Manila Standard.
Following them on second were the Chinese at 973,614 while American tourists claimed the third spot.
With 467,461 tourists, Japan came in fourth while Australia followed with 187,685 recorded arrivals. The BI also recorded 170,689 tourist arrivals from Canada.
Other nationals who made it to the top 10 foreign visitors in the Philippines are the Taiwanese at 171,461; English at 158,392; Malaysians with 107,404 tourists; Singaporeans with 92,503 arrivals and Germans at 65,921.
