Authorities arrested an Asian domestic helper for presenting another woman’s personal ID to be able to enter a building to clean flats.
Dubai Police arrested the 40-year-old Filipina domestic helper on April 9 who presented an Emirates ID of a different person to the guard of the building and insisted that the ID was hers, reported Khaleej Times.
“She wanted to get inside to clean some flats. As a routine regulation procedure, I asked her for an ID card. She showed me an Emirates ID card which bore a photo that looked different from her,” the Pakistani guard said.
It was also found that she left her sponsor without having her visa canceled.
The woman was detained by the police. She is facing charges before the Dubai Court and the ruling is expected to be released on June 26.
Using someone else’s ID is punishable under UAE law.
