Government employees and retirees in the UAE are set to begin receiving bonuses in celebration of the centenary of the birth of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Gulf state’s founding father, finance departments in Abu Dhabi and Ajman announced on Monday, June 4.
The Department of Finance of Abu Dhabi said in its official Instagram account that it has issued the one-month bonuses.
This comes nearly a month after President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan ordered the issuance of such bonuses to employees and retirees.
A total of Dh1.6 billion were allotted and shall be given to all federal workers before Eid Al Fitr.
The Ajman finance department also posted a similar announcement on social media, while Umm Al Quwain is set to issue bonus salaries starting Wednesday, June 6.
