On Tuesday, May 29, the Senate has ratified the bicameral committee version of the Philippine Identification System Act.
It seeks to “harmonize, integrate, and interconnect these countless and redundant government IDs by establishing a single national identification system” as per Senator Panfilo Lacson, who headed the passage of the proposition in the Senate.

Information which will be printed on the card includes the bearer’s unique Philippine Identification System or PhilSys number, full name, sex, blood type, date of birth, place of birth, marital status, address, and a front facing photo.
