PMA valedictorian to receive house and lot

The valedictorian of Philippine Military Academy’s (PMA) Class of 2018 will receive a house and lot, as announced during the class’ graduation rites on Sunday.

Cadet First Class Jaywardene Hontoria, who topped 282 mistahs of the “Alab Tala” Class, will receive a new house located at his hometown in Iloilo City.

The certificate of ownership was signed by former senator and real estate giant, Manny Villar.

Aside from being the class valedictorian, Hontoria also received several awards, including the Presidential Saber, Chief of Staff of Saber, Philippine Navy Saber, academic group award, Australian Defense Best Overall Performance Award, Spanish Armed Forces Award, Humanities Plaque, Natural Sciences Plaque, Social Sciences Plaque, JUSMAG award, and the Department of Leadership Plaque.

Hontoria received a nursing degree from the West Visayas State University before entering the PMA.

He is set to marry his girlfriend inside the PMA before serving in the Navy.

This is also the first time a PMA graduate received a house and lot for topping the class.
