Recently-appointed United States (US) ambassador to Manila Sung Kim has expressed admiration about how Filipinos celebrate Christmas calling it an “extraordinary experience.”
In a tweet, Kim said: “@USAmbManila No one celebrates Christmas quite like the Philippines. It was truly an extraordinary experience. Maligayang Pasko!”
On Christmas eve, the US Embassy released a video showing Kim singing the Filipino Christmas carol “Pasko na Naman” in Filipino. He was joined by his staff, singing and dancing to celebrate the holidays, ABS-CBN News reported.
Since Kim replaced former ambassador Philip Goldberg, Kim has toured the country and participated in local events, which he actively posts about on social media.
While Kim himself has not yet been treated to a set-down by Duterte, the president recently took another swipe at America, and said the Western superpower’s ambassadors are actually spies that are skilled at undermining the government.
