Filipino-Italian skier receives ‘Wings of Pegasus’ award in Italy
Filipino-Italian Alpine skier Francis Ceccarelli has been awarded the prestigious “Wings of Pegasus” Prize at Palazzo del Pegaso in Florence.
The 22-year-old athlete from Abertone, who recently competed in the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games in the giant slalom and special slalom events, was recognized for embodying sportsmanship, resilience, and Tuscan pride.
The award honors outstanding individuals under 35 who have made significant contributions in cultural, social, or sporting fields. It was presented by Tuscan Legislative Assembly Vice Presidents Antonio Mazzeo and Diego Petrucci.
Ceccarelli is currently preparing for the upcoming World Championships in Crans Montana. He expressed gratitude and surprise upon receiving the recognition.
The ceremony was attended by his coach Stefano Barattero, members of his family, and several distinguished guests, including Fabio Fanfani, Pablo Alvarez, Enrico Catellacci, Manuela Bagatti, Clarissa Tonarelli, Gabriele Bacci, and Viola Mazzolini. – ALONA COCHON
