Abu Dhabi Police arrest 375 over war-related videos, ‘misinformation’ posts

Police in Abu Dhabi have arrested 375 people of various nationalities for allegedly filming sensitive locations and spreading misleading information on social media amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

In a statement, Abu Dhabi Police said those arrested were accused of recording different sites and posting false or misleading information related to current events online. The suspects have been referred to the Public Prosecution.

The arrests are part of a broader crackdown across the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf countries on footage and online posts linked to Iran’s attacks during the conflict triggered by U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran.

Authorities said Iran has targeted not only U.S. assets in the Gulf, but also civilian sites including landmarks, oil and gas facilities, airports and residential areas.

Abu Dhabi Police warned that spreading rumors or causing panic through unverified posts is punishable under UAE law.

The agency urged the public to rely only on official sources and avoid sharing unconfirmed information online.
