Youths with Down Syndrome star in fashion show

by

Dressed to impress, 17 children with Down Syndrome walked down the runway in a fashion show organized by Faith and Light Ministry in Cagayan de Oro on Saturday.

The young and cheeky children paraded their “world of imagination” themed attire and formal clothes created by Kagay-anon designers.

The event’s objective is to bring the children closer to the community and elevate their self-esteem.

“It’s a way of exposing these children to the community and you have seen it how they can blossom. They need not be ashamed, they did not fear the community and I think it is a way of enhancing their dignity as children of God,” , said Msgr. Florencio Salvador Jr., official of Cagayan de Oro archdiocese.

The fashion show is the second organized by the ministry for the special children.
