Poa denies claim VP Sara threw laptop at him

Defense spokesperson Atty. Michael Poa denied allegations that Vice President Sara Duterte once threw a laptop at him, saying he has never experienced or witnessed violent behavior from the vice president.

Speaking in an interview with ANC on Wednesday, Poa dismissed the claim as false.

“Sabi nga nung minsan, nabato ako ng laptop eh… that’s not true. Totally not true,” Poa said.

He said Duterte has never been physically aggressive toward him during the years they have worked together.

“Hindi ako nabato ng laptop or anything. I’ve never seen her done that. She’s never been violent. She’s never even raised her voice at me,” he said.

Poa acknowledged that some people may not believe his account but maintained that he was speaking from personal experience.

“I know some people might not believe me, but that’s the truth. I was working with her since DepEd, 2022,” he said.

Poa said his experience working with Duterte has shown her to be a decisive leader who knows what she wants to accomplish.

“I really saw the real person that she is… very decisive, she knows what she wants, and that is what you need from a leader,” he said.

“To be honest, I’ve never seen any outburst or outrage,” he added.
