The United Arab Emirates welcomed US President Donald Trump’s decision to begin the process of removing Syria from the United States’ list of State Sponsors of Terrorism.
In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the announcement as a positive development that would support Syria’s recovery and reconstruction while creating opportunities to revive the country’s economy and attract investment.
The ministry said the move would also help strengthen Syria’s integration into the global economy and contribute to greater security, stability and prosperity.
The UAE reaffirmed its support for international efforts aimed at helping the Syrian people achieve security, stability, peaceful coexistence and sustainable development.
