Broadcaster Arnold Clavio and columnist Ramon Tulfo have denied allegations that they received suitcases containing money, following claims made by an alleged former bodyguard linked to former Ako Bicol Representative Zaldy Co.
In a statement posted on social media, Clavio dismissed the accusations and challenged those making the claims to provide proof.
“Lies. Nakakatawa. Nakakalungkot. Pero lahat ng ito ay haharapin ko nang walang takot. Talk is cheap. Bago ang dada, ebidensiya muna,” Clavio said.
He added that he has nothing to hide and is prepared to defend himself in court.
“Hindi ako natatakot. Wala akong itinatago. Magkita na lang kami sa korte at doon ulitin niya lahat ng kanyang walang kakwentang bintang,” he said.
Tulfo also rejected the allegations and sarcastically thanked those who allegedly implicated him in the controversy.
The accusations stem from claims made by individuals identified as former bodyguards of Co, who have alleged that they delivered suitcases containing cash to various personalities.
Several individuals named in the allegations have denied any wrongdoing and challenged the accusers to present evidence supporting their claims.
Authorities have yet to publicly present evidence corroborating the allegations involving Clavio and Tulfo.
