Actress and singer Sharon Cuneta has strongly denied allegations linking her family to the ongoing controversy involving former Ako Bicol Party-list Representative Zaldy Co.
In a social media post, Cuneta criticized claims stemming from a photograph presented during a meeting organized by former congressman Mike Defensor.
The photograph allegedly showed Senator Kiko Pangilinan, Cuneta, their children, and employees of Misibis Aviation and Development Corporation, a company reportedly linked to Co.
Cuneta said the photo was taken during a family visit to Marawi to thank local officials and their families for supporting Pangilinan during the election campaign.
“Talaga ba, magbibigay kayo ng maleta sa amin sa Marawi pa?” Cuneta wrote, dismissing the allegations as false.
She also defended her family’s reputation, saying their achievements and resources were earned through hard work.
“Pinaghihirapan namin lahat ng meron kami,” she said.
The controversy emerged amid ongoing allegations involving former military personnel who claimed to have delivered suitcases containing money to various individuals allegedly connected to the flood control controversy.
No evidence has been publicly presented linking Pangilinan or Cuneta to any wrongdoing, and both have denied the allegations.
The photograph has circulated online as part of broader discussions surrounding the testimonies of the so-called “maleta boys” and their claims involving figures allegedly connected to former lawmaker Zaldy Co.
