Cacdac joins Philippine Independence Day celebration in Dubai

Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac joined members of the Filipino community in Dubai in commemorating the 128th anniversary of Philippine Independence on June 12.

The celebration paid tribute to both historical heroes and modern-day heroes, including overseas Filipino workers whose contributions continue to support their families and the Philippine economy.

According to the Department of Migrant Workers, the event was held in line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to ensure the protection, welfare, and effective delivery of services to overseas Filipino workers and their families.

The celebration began with a parade featuring the Dubai Police Academy Band and marching bands from various Filipino schools in the United Arab Emirates.

Participating in the event were Secretary Cacdac, officials from the Philippine Embassy and Consulate, representatives from the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Dubai, other Philippine government agencies, and Filipino community organizations.

The program was conducted under the One-Country Team Approach and was led by Ambassador Alfonso Ferdinand A. Ver, Consul-General Ambrosio Brian F. Enciso III, and Labor Attaché John Rio Bautista.

Officials used the occasion to reaffirm the Philippine government’s commitment to supporting Filipinos living and working overseas while celebrating their role in nation-building.
