Dubai Police has warned residents about the increasing spread of fake investment and trading schemes circulating online, as part of its ongoing “Beware of Fraud” campaign.
Authorities said scammers are using social media and digital platforms to promote fraudulent investment offers that appear as advertisements or direct messages, promising quick and guaranteed returns.
Victims are often enticed with high-profit claims in a short period and are later pressured to send money urgently or disclose personal and banking information through suspicious links. Many end up losing their savings.
Dubai Police emphasized that legitimate investment platforms do not guarantee risk-free or fixed returns and do not request payments through unregulated or unofficial channels.
Residents are advised to verify the licensing and credibility of any investment company with the relevant UAE authorities before proceeding with any financial transactions.
The police also urged the public to avoid engaging with unknown links, advertisements, or messages, and to refrain from sharing sensitive information on unverified websites.
Those who encounter suspicious schemes are encouraged to report them immediately through the eCrime platform or official channels, or via the non-emergency hotline 901.
Dubai Police reiterated that public awareness and vigilance are key in preventing financial fraud and protecting residents from scams.
