DMW assures support for OFWs unable to return to Middle East amid tensions

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has assured assistance for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who are unable to return to their jobs in the Middle East due to ongoing regional tensions.

The agency has yet to determine the exact number of affected OFWs.

He added that sectors such as hospitality, transport, restaurants, and construction are among those most affected.

To aid those stranded or unable to leave, the government has launched the Bayanihan Para sa Balikbayang Manggagawa program, which provides financial assistance and support for livelihood or business opportunities.
