Senate re-electionist Richard ‘Dick’ Gordon poured his sentiments on Monday, April 4, against President Duterte’s negative assertions about him.
Gordon believes the President was enraged with him due to his leadership of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee which spearheaded investigations of the current administration’s suspected anomalous deals during the pandemic.
The committee recommended charges against Duterte and other current and former officials.
“Duterte is the issue in this election. Diyos yan ng marami (He’s the god of many)…Basta ako kahit matalo ako (Even if I lose), I told the truth and the truth hurts the President that’s why he’s saying do not vote Gordon,” the senator stated in ANC’s Headstart.

“Nagagalit ka lang sa’kin dahil nasama ka (You got mad because you were included), that you got caught with your pants down,” he added.
Gordon remarked that Filipinos do not deserve a national leader like President Duterte since he has become a fool.
“It shows the absence of a mind. You have run out of arguments. You have become a fool. The country does not deserve you. You curse God, the Pope. The Filipino nation does not deserve you.”
The senator also noted how Duterte, before, claimed him as the next president at least five times.
“I’m flattered that the President is giving his full-blown attention to someone whom he claimed—did he not say, he said five times the next president of the Philippines is Richard Gordon. You said that 5 times, before ambassadors of other countries. I didn’t believe you, I didn’t care,” Gordon said.
To recall, Duterte had defended former Budget Undersecretary Christopher Lao, who headed the purchase of costly medical supplies last year.
He also backed former Presidential Economic Adviser Michael Yang, who is said to have ties with Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corp, which Laos’ Department of Health awarded P8.68 billion for PPEs and other medical supplies contracts.
Further, Sen. Gordon advised the new voters such as the youth to campaign for the candidate they really believe in and warned them not to be easily swayed by survey results.
“Kung maniniwala tayo sa survey, wag na tayo mag-election. Survey na lang, mas mura pa,” he declared.
