The ‘Jesus Is Lord’ church headed by House Deputy Speaker Eddie Villanueva will not be endorsing any presidential candidate in the 2022 elections.
Villanueva said that almost all of the candidates are friends with his son and re-electionist senator Joel Villanueva.
“I have no plans because we’re friends with almost all of them. So, my prayer is that the Lord’s guidance to the Filipino people will prevail, that they will choose wisely and scrutinize, and learn more about each candidate,” Villanueva told reporters in a ZOOM meeting.
In recent weeks, convicted sex trafficker Pastor Apollo Quiboloy has endorsed the candidacy of the late dictator son Bongbong Marcos.
Charismatic group El Shaddai leader Mike Velarde also endorsed the bids of Marcos and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
Some 500 priests and nuns meanwhile showed their support to the candidacies of VP Leni Robredo and Sen. Kiko Pangilinan.
