Baguio City’s swan boats were able to reach Amulung, Cagayan, one of the flood-stricken areas in Region II.
The famous swan boats can be found in the city’s Burnham park as part of its tourism activities before the coronavirus pandemic.
Now instead of being stuck in the park, its owner decided to lend some of the swab boats to help in the rescue operations in Cagayan flooded towns.
“The swan boats are used as transportation for residents in Barangays Anquiray and Abollo. The boats also serve as recreation for the children who had traumatic experiences during the flooding due to typhoon #UlyssesPH,” based on a report by the Philippine Information Agency.
Baguio City boat owner Vivian Celso sent the boats through the Baguio City Police Office, who brought them to Cagayan. Celso said this is her way of contributing to the rescue effort in flood-affected communities.
